Disney’s Palm Golf Course

Disney World has been not-unaccurately described as being an artificial creation. . If one needs a break from the synthetic, Disney’s Palm Golf Course is a good way to go. For on the Palm Golf Course, one can enjoy the beautiful nature of the state of Florida.

The course is recognized for its lush parkland, lakes, palm trees, and of course the natural forest that surrounds the course.

But a course is only as good as the holes that make it up and the Palm was made up well. There are 59 bunkers on the course and thats right on top of the water hazards that bedeck nine of the eighteen holes.

One of the showcase holes is the third hole. A par 3, the hole straddles the side of one of the lakes, with three bunkers protecting the green, which is on a slope. The water comes into play everywhere on this course and why wouldn’t it? It is a wetland after all.

The most challenging hole though, occurs right at the end. Leave it to Disney, to have a grand finale, even a golf course. The 18th hole is a par four and quite deviously design. The last third of the hole is on an island. One side of the green is guarded by four bunkers and the other is protected by water. Great accuracy is needed here unless ones wish to be stymied by the course’s obstacles. Disney may be magical but it can tricky as well.

While first constructed in the seventies, the Palm has undergone several renovations in order to remain up to date with the modern golfer, the most recent one occurring in 2013 by Arnold Palmer Designs. Like the nearby Magnolia course, Palm is on the PGA Tour and the fourth hardest of the Tour.

Truly…The Palm Course is a golf experience filled with magic!
