Nestled between the peaks of the Teton Range, lies a course where it is rumored a million yards of earth was shifted in order to build the Jackson Hole. A high class residential development in Wyoming, Shooting Star offers a wide variety of amenities for its members and their guests, among them is a superb eighteen hole golf course that was designed by Tom Fazio, one of the greatest living golf architects, whose work has been featured numerous times in Golf Digest magazine’s America’s Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
The Cowboy State is the second least populated state in the United States and as a result, there is no shortage of wondrous, natural scenery, and thanks to its architect, Jackson Hole golf course, fits into the landscape almost perfectly, thanks in no small part to the design aesthetic of Tom Fazio. Soaring mountains can be seen in the background and a winding creek on the third hole and small lakes form the water hazards, especially on the back nine holes. In all, thirteen holes are challenged by the waters of Wyoming.
If the weather in Wyoming is a little too much for the player, Shooting Star offers a way that one could play at dozens of courses all over the world without leaving the clubhouse, a top of the line golf simulator is available to players, a simulator that includes the market’s most accurate launch monitor. The clubhouse is open year round, but the course is open from late May to mid October.
If golf is simply not on the agenda, club members can also enjoy Shooting Star’s swimming areas, dining, fitness center and spa. All under the mountains of Wyoming.
